What is Piano Voicing?

​The voice of the piano is its tonal sound. All pianos have slightly different voices, and this is determined by it’s overall build and environment. However, over time the voice of the piano may change. The felt hammers that strike the strings and make the note can harden over time and may cause the voice of the piano to become slightly harsher sounding. Though this does no harm to the piano, you may prefer the softer tone it once had.

Regulation is the process of realigning, restoring, and repairing all the moving parts of the piano so that they work together in the way they should so they can produce the quality tone and sound they should. Regulation can extend the life of your piano as proper positioning reduces the wear and tear on the parts and on the piano as a whole.
